At Next Steps HR, Wellbeing is not treated as the latest fad or buzzword. The increasing number of people with mental health issues, heart disease, diabetes and obesity related issues in the Western world is unprecedented and undisputed. People may be living longer but increasingly with poorer health which has an impact on them, their families, the social care and the National Health Service.
For any wellbeing strategy to succeed in the workplace, it must go beyond the provision of fresh fruit and subsidised gym membership. Next Steps HR can work with you in creating, measuring and sustaining an everyday culture in which people develop and thrive.
We can work with you in supporting you to achieve accreditation of the Government’s National Workplace Wellbeing Charter. The eight areas of the charter are:
- Leadership
- Absence Management
- Health and Safety
- Mental Health
- Physical Activity
- Healthy Eating
- Smoking
- Alcohol
We will work with you to review and understand what you currently have in place. Then, we can help you identify any gaps by benchmarking with the charter framework and creating a specific action plan. Any policy documents, review documents, information documents will be created with you to ensure everything provided is bespoke and workable within your organisation. Of course, telephone support and visits from us are included. We can also offer group or personal coaching in changing habits and lifestyles to achieve sustained changes. Once you achieve accreditation, you will have use of the Workplace Wellbeing Charter logo and you will be listed on the Wellbeing Charter website as an employer who demonstrates a commitment to investing in and supporting their people in the workplace. Apart from reducing sickness absence and labour turnover, increasing productivity and performance, being recognised as someone who can demonstrate this level of care and loyalty to their employees could also help attract new staff in future and become an “Employer of Choice”.
Rather than dealing with absence issues, why not address the root cause in a positive, supportive, effective way? Get in touch with us….
